Notabene is a small NotePad-like application developed in the SuperCard 4 development environment for managing informations and long runs of text. It doesn't write documents or preferences to the hard disk. The information is saved within the application. Its size is subject to change. That's why it cannot be launched from a write-protected medium.
A notepad app which holds the data (although Apple disapproves that) may be useful (e. g. on USB sticks). Under OS X it should be placed in the user's Applications folder (~/Applications) and not in /Applications where it would be accessible to other users. Notabene provides browser-like functionality, 4 text fields per page and tabbed organization in a single window. All features are available from the toolbar, not only from the menus.
If Notabene stores a large amount of pages, under OS 9 or Classic it might be necessary to InCrease the *Preferred Memory* in the application's *Get Info* panel.
Instructions are available on the first page of Notabene in English, Italian and German. Tool tips in English are implemented. All pages provided with this copy of Notabene are samples. Feel free to delete them.
